About this world

HD 219134 h is a gas giant orbiting HD 219134, an orange dwarf (type K3V) 21.3 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass), with at least 0.34 Jupiter masses (a minimum, measured by radial velocity). It completes an orbit every 6.15 years at 3.1 AU from its star.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 118 K (−155 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2015 by radial velocity with Roque de los Muchachos Observatory. The star wobbles toward and away from us, Doppler-shifting its spectrum. HD 219134 has 6 known planets; the others are HD 219134 b, HD 219134 c, HD 219134 f, HD 219134 d and HD 219134 g.
