About this world

HD 110067 f is a sub-Neptune orbiting HD 110067, an orange dwarf (type K0.0V) 105 light-years from Earth. It is about 2.6 times the size of Earth and holds 5 Earth masses. It completes an orbit every 41.1 days at 0.22 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 489 K (216 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium. Its atmosphere has already been studied: 2 spectroscopic observations, all of them with the James Webb Space Telescope.

It was discovered in 2023 by transit with Multiple Observatories. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. HD 110067 has 6 known planets; the others are HD 110067 b, HD 110067 c, HD 110067 d, HD 110067 e and HD 110067 g.
