About this world

HD 110067 b is a sub-Neptune orbiting HD 110067, an orange dwarf (type K0.0V) 105 light-years from Earth. It is about 2.2 times the size of Earth and holds 5.7 Earth masses. It completes an orbit every 9.11 days at 0.079 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 800 K (527 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", its star has probably stripped its atmosphere away, leaving bare rock. Its atmosphere has already been studied: 2 spectroscopic observations, all of them with the James Webb Space Telescope.

It was discovered in 2023 by transit with Multiple Observatories. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. HD 110067 has 6 known planets; the others are HD 110067 c, HD 110067 d, HD 110067 e, HD 110067 f and HD 110067 g.
