About this world

TOI-4562 b is a gas giant orbiting TOI-4562, a yellow-white F-type star (type F7V) 1.11 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Jupiter and holds 2.3 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 225 days at 0.77 AU from its star, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.76).

Its equilibrium temperature is about 318 K (45 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2023 by transit with Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. TOI-4562 has 2 known planets; the others are TOI-4562 c.
