About this world

HD 136352 b is a super-Earth orbiting HD 136352, a yellow, Sun-like star (type G4V) 47.9 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.7 times the size of Earth and holds 4.7 Earth masses. It completes an orbit every 11.6 days at 0.096 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 905 K (632 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", its star has probably stripped its atmosphere away, leaving bare rock.

It was discovered in 2019 by radial velocity with La Silla Observatory. The star wobbles toward and away from us, Doppler-shifting its spectrum. HD 136352 has 3 known planets; the others are HD 136352 c and HD 136352 d.
