About this world
V2376 Ori b is a gas giant orbiting V2376 Ori, a cool red dwarf (type M). It is about 7.8 times the size of Jupiter and holds 20 Jupiter masses.
Its equilibrium temperature is about 2,100 K (1,827 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.
It was discovered in 2025 by direct imaging with Multiple Observatories. The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph.
