About this world

TWA 7 b is a gas giant orbiting TWA 7, a cool red dwarf 111 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 0.34 Jupiter masses.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 316 K (43 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2025 by direct imaging with James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph.
