About this world
TOI-5799 c is a super-Earth orbiting TOI-5799, a cool red dwarf (type M2V) 90.7 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.8 times the size of Earth. It completes an orbit every 14 days at 0.078 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.
Its equilibrium temperature is about 337 K (64 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", it has likely held on to an atmosphere.
It was discovered in 2025 by transit with Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. TOI-5799 has 2 known planets; the others are TOI-5799 b.
