About this world

TOI-237 b is a super-Earth orbiting TOI-237, a cool red dwarf (type M4.5V) 124 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.4 times the size of Earth. It completes an orbit every 5.44 days at 0.034 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 388 K (115 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", it has likely held on to an atmosphere.

It was discovered in 2020 by transit with Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. TOI-237 has 2 known planets; the others are TOI-237 c.
