About this world

TOI-2322 c is a super-Earth orbiting TOI-2322, an orange dwarf (type K4) 195 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.9 times the size of Earth and holds 18 Earth masses. It completes an orbit every 20.2 days at 0.14 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 497 K (224 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", it has likely held on to an atmosphere.

It was discovered in 2025 by transit with Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. TOI-2322 has 2 known planets; the others are TOI-2322 b.
