About this world

TOI-201 c is a gas giant orbiting TOI-201, a yellow-white F-type star (type F) 371 light-years from Earth. It is about 0.93 times the size of Jupiter and holds 16 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 7.91 years at 4.4 AU from its star, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.65).

Its equilibrium temperature is about 170 K (−104 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2025 by timing variations with Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). Pulsar, eclipse or transit timings drift as an unseen companion tugs on them. TOI-201 has 3 known planets; the others are TOI-201 d and TOI-201 b.
