About this world

TOI-1450 A c is an Earth-sized planet orbiting TOI-1450 A, a cool red dwarf (type M3.0V) 73.2 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Earth (its size estimated from its mass), with at least 1.5 Earth masses (a minimum, measured by radial velocity). It completes an orbit every 5.07 days at 0.045 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 533 K (260 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", its star has probably stripped its atmosphere away, leaving bare rock.

It was discovered in 2024 by transit with Gemini Observatory. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. TOI-1450 A has 2 known planets; the others are TOI-1450 A b.
