About this world

TOI-1232 c is a Neptune-like planet orbiting TOI-1232, a yellow, Sun-like star (type G1V) 1.07 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 0.79 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 0.18 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 30.4 days at 0.19 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 660 K (387 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2026 by timing variations with Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). Pulsar, eclipse or transit timings drift as an unseen companion tugs on them. TOI-1232 has 2 known planets; the others are TOI-1232 b.
