About this world

OGLE-TR-132 b is a gas giant orbiting OGLE-TR-132, a yellow-white F-type star (type F5V) 6.56 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 1.2 times the size of Jupiter and holds 1.2 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 1.69 days at 0.03 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.6).

Its equilibrium temperature is about 2,013 K (1,740 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2004 by transit with OGLE. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction.
