About this world

OGLE-2016-BLG-1190L b is a gas giant orbiting OGLE-2016-BLG-1190L, a star 22.1 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 13 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 3.34 years at 2.2 AU from its star, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.42).

At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2017 by microlensing with OGLE. A foreground star's gravity magnifies a background star; a planet adds a blip.
