About this world

NN Ser d is a gas giant orbiting NN Ser, a hot blue star (type WD) 1.68 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 1.2 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 2.3 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 7.89 years at 3.4 AU from its star, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.24).

At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2010 by timing variations with Multiple Observatories. Pulsar, eclipse or transit timings drift as an unseen companion tugs on them. NN Ser has 2 known planets; the others are NN Ser c.
