About this world
LkCa 15 c is a planet orbiting LkCa 15, an orange dwarf 516 light-years from Earth.
Its equilibrium temperature is about 59 K (−214 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface.
It was discovered in 2015 by direct imaging with Large Binocular Telescope Observatory. The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph. LkCa 15 has 2 known planets; the others are LkCa 15 b.
