About this world

Kepler-444 f is an Earth-sized planet orbiting Kepler-444, an orange dwarf (type K) 119 light-years from Earth. It is about 0.74 times the size of Earth. It completes an orbit every 9.74 days at 0.081 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.29).

Its equilibrium temperature is about 673 K (400 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", its star has probably stripped its atmosphere away, leaving bare rock.

It was discovered in 2015 by transit with Kepler. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. Kepler-444 has 5 known planets; the others are Kepler-444 b, Kepler-444 c, Kepler-444 d and Kepler-444 e.
