About this world

Kepler-32 c is a sub-Neptune orbiting Kepler-32, a cool red dwarf (type M1V) 1.06 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 2 times the size of Earth and holds 160 Earth masses. It completes an orbit every 8.75 days at 0.09 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 451 K (178 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", it has likely held on to an atmosphere.

It was discovered in 2011 by transit with Kepler. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. Kepler-32 has 5 known planets; the others are Kepler-32 f, Kepler-32 e, Kepler-32 b and Kepler-32 d.
