About this world

Kepler-1654 b is a Neptune-like planet orbiting Kepler-1654, a yellow, Sun-like star (type G5V) 1.85 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 0.82 times the size of Jupiter and holds 0.5 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 2.87 years at 2 AU from its star, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.26).

Its equilibrium temperature is about 206 K (−67 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2018 by transit with Kepler. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction.
