About this world

Kepler-1513 c is a gas giant orbiting Kepler-1513, a yellow, Sun-like star (type GV) 1.14 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 0.98 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 0.27 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 2.3 years at 1.7 AU from its star.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 198 K (−75 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2023 by timing variations with Multiple Observatories. Pulsar, eclipse or transit timings drift as an unseen companion tugs on them. Kepler-1513 has 2 known planets; the others are Kepler-1513 b.
