About this world

HD 63935 c is a sub-Neptune orbiting HD 63935, a yellow, Sun-like star 160 light-years from Earth. It is about 3.1 times the size of Earth and holds 11 Earth masses. It completes an orbit every 21.4 days at 0.15 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 620 K (346 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium. Its atmosphere has already been studied: 2 spectroscopic observations, all of them with the James Webb Space Telescope.

It was discovered in 2021 by radial velocity with Multiple Observatories. The star wobbles toward and away from us, Doppler-shifting its spectrum. HD 63935 has 2 known planets; the others are HD 63935 b.
