About this world

HD 284149 AB b is a gas giant orbiting HD 284149 A, a yellow-white F-type star 384 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 26 Jupiter masses.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 2,395 K (2,122 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2017 by direct imaging with Paranal Observatory. The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph.
