About this world

HD 203030 b is a gas giant orbiting HD 203030, a yellow, Sun-like star (type G8V) 128 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.3 times the size of Jupiter and holds 11 Jupiter masses.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 1,040 K (767 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2006 by direct imaging with Palomar Observatory. The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph.
