About this world

HD 190360 b is a gas giant orbiting HD 190360, a yellow, Sun-like star (type G7IV-V) 52.2 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.2 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 1.7 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 7.91 years at 4 AU from its star, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.33).

Its equilibrium temperature is about 150 K (−123 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2003 by radial velocity with Haute-Provence Observatory. The star wobbles toward and away from us, Doppler-shifting its spectrum. HD 190360 has 3 known planets; the others are HD 190360 c and HD 190360 d.
