About this world

HD 184010 d is a gas giant orbiting HD 184010, a giant star (type K0III-I) 198 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.3 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass), with at least 0.45 Jupiter masses (a minimum, measured by radial velocity). It completes an orbit every 2.29 years at 1.9 AU from its star.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 381 K (108 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2022 by radial velocity with Okayama Astrophysical Observatory. The star wobbles toward and away from us, Doppler-shifting its spectrum. HD 184010 has 3 known planets; the others are HD 184010 b and HD 184010 c.
