About this world

HD 145675 c is a gas giant orbiting 14 Her, an orange dwarf (type K0) 58.5 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 7.9 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 43.1 years at 20 AU from its star, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.52).

Its equilibrium temperature is about 56 K (−218 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium. Its atmosphere has already been studied in one spectroscopic observation.

It was discovered in 2021 by radial velocity with Multiple Observatories. The star wobbles toward and away from us, Doppler-shifting its spectrum. 14 Her has 2 known planets; the others are 14 Her b.
