About this world
HD 135344 A b is a gas giant orbiting HD 135344 A, a white A-type star (type A0V) 462 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.4 times the size of Jupiter and holds 10 Jupiter masses.
Its equilibrium temperature is about 1,585 K (1,312 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.
It was discovered in 2025 by direct imaging with Paranal Observatory. The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph.
