About this world

GSC 06214-00210 b is a gas giant orbiting GSC 06214-00210, an orange dwarf (type K7) 354 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.8 times the size of Jupiter and holds 16 Jupiter masses.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 2,300 K (2,027 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2010 by direct imaging with Palomar Observatory. The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph.
