About this world

Gaia23braL b is a gas giant orbiting Gaia23braL, an orange dwarf 14.1 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 1.2 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 1.6 Jupiter masses.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 129 K (−144 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2026 by microlensing with European Space Agency (ESA) Gaia Satellite. A foreground star's gravity magnifies a background star; a planet adds a blip.
