About this world
G 192-15 c is a sub-Neptune orbiting G 192-15, a cool red dwarf (type M5.0V) 31.1 light-years from Earth. It is about 3.9 times the size of Earth (its size estimated from its mass), with at least 14 Earth masses (a minimum, measured by radial velocity). It completes an orbit every 3.34 years at 1.1 AU from its star, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.68).
Its equilibrium temperature is about 56 K (−217 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.
It was discovered in 2025 by radial velocity with Calar Alto Observatory. The star wobbles toward and away from us, Doppler-shifting its spectrum. G 192-15 has 2 known planets; the others are G 192-15 b.
