EPIC 248847494 b is a gas giant orbiting EPIC 248847494, an orange dwarf 1.8 thousand light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Jupiter and holds 13 Jupiter masses. It completes an orbit every 9.99 years at 4.5 AU from its star.
Its equilibrium temperature is about 183 K (−90 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.
It was discovered in 2018 by transit with K2. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction.
