About this world

EPIC 201595106 b is a super-Earth orbiting EPIC 201595106, a yellow, Sun-like star 757 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.6 times the size of Earth and holds 7.7 Earth masses. It completes an orbit every 21.1 hours at 0.018 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 2,038 K (1,765 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", its star has probably stripped its atmosphere away, leaving bare rock.

It was discovered in 2021 by transit with K2. A planet crosses its star and dims it by a tiny, periodic fraction. EPIC 201595106 has 2 known planets; the others are K2-360 c.
