About this world

Elias 2-24 b is a gas giant orbiting Elias 2-24, an orange dwarf (type K6) 443 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.2 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 3 Jupiter masses.

At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2026 by direct imaging with W. M. Keck Observatory. The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph.
