About this world

DMPP-1 d is a sub-Neptune orbiting DMPP-1, a yellow-white F-type star (type F8V) 204 light-years from Earth. It is about 2 times the size of Earth (its size estimated from its mass), with at least 4.7 Earth masses (a minimum, measured by radial velocity). It completes an orbit every 3.14 days at 0.045 AU from its star, closer than Mercury is to the Sun, on a strongly elongated orbit (e = 0.36).

Its equilibrium temperature is about 1,632 K (1,359 °C): far too hot for liquid water on its surface. By the "cosmic shoreline", its star has probably stripped its atmosphere away, leaving bare rock.

It was discovered in 2019 by radial velocity with La Silla Observatory. The star wobbles toward and away from us, Doppler-shifting its spectrum. DMPP-1 has 4 known planets; the others are DMPP-1 e, DMPP-1 c and DMPP-1 b.
