About this world

2MASS J22362452+4751425 b is a gas giant orbiting 2MASS J22362452+4751425, an orange dwarf (type K7V) 227 light-years from Earth. It is about 1.1 times the size of Jupiter (its size estimated from its mass) and holds 13 Jupiter masses.

Its equilibrium temperature is about 10 K (−263 °C): too cold for liquid water on its surface. At its size it almost certainly keeps a deep envelope of hydrogen and helium.

It was discovered in 2016 by direct imaging with W. M. Keck Observatory. The planet itself is photographed, its star blocked by a coronagraph.
